Which Foyer Table is the Best One for Your Entryway?

A foyer is a space at the entrance of a home. Otherwise called an entryway or entry hall, foyers are most often given dramatic design statements. A foyer table is a piece of furniture placed in entry halls to hold items that are often used like keys, mail or cell phones. Typical entry halls are relatively narrow so the table has to be slim in design.
There are so many options that you need to consider when shopping for foyer tables as they are available in various styles, finishes and prices. Some of the most common types of foyer tables include desk style tables, accent tables, console tables and hall tables. In modern homes, wrought iron or glass tables are very common in hallways. Country-style or rustic homes usually have pine or oak stained pieces while traditional homes come with walnut, mahogany or cherry pieces. In traditional homes, they can either be antique or new creations.
Semi-circular or half-moon tables are popular with any kind of décor style. The side facing the wall is flat while the other edge is curved. Such style will help reduce the amount of space that these table take while still giving enough space to display photographs or art. Many homeowners opt to display a piece of artwork or a mirror, making it a focal point above the table rather actually putting items on the table’s surface.
Console tables are much smaller than semi-circular tables. Also known as sofa-style console tables, they are also rectangular in shape and can have a bottom shelf or shallow drawer to give additional storage. Desk-style foyer tables practically have the same features as console tables. The difference is that they come with a pull-out tray for writing which can be pushed in and hidden when not in use.
Foyer tables are able to perform a variety of functions. They do not always have to be a mail and keys repository as they can be of great use in displaying art objects. Plus, they can add style to a barren entryway.
